In these on-going difficult days some information for you all as councillors. We need to maintain as near as possible the status quo whilst maintaining as safe as we can. I currently await directives from CALC and Cornwall Council on the continuation of public meetings and the legalities of making important decisions in particular planning decisions without the possibility of public participation and restricting their opportunity to make their representations.
At the meeting of the Parish Council Executive Committee held on Monday 16th March it was agreed that with the Community Hall on virtual closure that I would work from home, save the exception of collecting mail and messages. The office telephone has been redirected to my mobile 07771878442 and home number 01726 850280.
At present the Council meeting scheduled for March 31st will still be held and it will be at the discretion of councillors to choose if they attend. On the assumption that there are sufficient councillors in attendance to achieve a quorum then the meeting can proceed. I have attached the current agenda of Planning and there are already some controversial applications for consideration. I emphasise that these need to be studied, decisions will need to be made and the comments from councillors are vital and need to be notified to me in writing if you are not attending the meeting.
I must also remind councillors that as residents of the Parish your comments are needed to placed on the Public Consultation website of the Community Governance Review. We are all aware how vitally important this is to our Parish and the closing date is Tuesday March 24th.
Finally to you and all your families – stay safe and stay well.
